Scripture Reading:
Psalm 19
Message:
This is a psalm of praise proclaiming the greatness of God, and the beauty of His creation. Near the end of the psalm, David makes a plea to the Lord for forgiveness, and also asks to prevent future sins from coming about.
This psalm makes me want to take a trip into nature. To sit out on a hill on a bright and sunny day, and to behold the glory of God. While I know that God is everywhere, I personally feel much closer to God when the noises and business of life are quieted by the peacefulness of God’s creation. I love how David paints a picture in our minds of the sun going across the earth. It is beautiful how he compares creation with God, and shows how God is greater than it all.
Time of Prayer
Lord, you are greater than the most beautiful summers day. Thank you for the beauty of Your creation that You have shared with us. Thank You for Your beauty that is far greater. Amen
The Lord’s Prayer
Closing Hymn
He Leadeth Me: http://www.hymnsite.com/lyrics/umh128.sht
May the Lord bless you and keep you: May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace." Amen.
Go in peace, serve the Lord
Thanks be to God
