Opening Hymns:

Scripture Reading:
Romans 5:1-5

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we[c] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Message:
“We also glory in our sufferings”… What powerful words, and words that can spark into us a sense of strength and hope when times are hard for us. How often do you take joy in your sufferings? I can honestly say that joy is not the first emotion to come to mind when things are hard. Stress, sadness, and lamentation usually follow when times seem too much to bear… What if we could look at life a little bit different? What if we could feel ourselves growing through each trial in life? Instead of feeling weakened by each challenge we can recognize that each challenge in life is an opportunity for us to grow. We can grow into stronger people with a deeper understanding for those who suffer and a deeper hope for the future. In all things God has created good, even through suffering, good things can be seen.

Time of Prayer
Dear Lord, Help us through each challenge that life brings us. Let each challenge shape us into more caring, understanding, loving, and hopeful Children of God. Amen.

May the Lord bless you and keep you: May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace." Amen.

Go in peace, serve the Lord
Thanks be to God
