Scripture Reading:
Acts 9:36-43
39 Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them.
40 Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. 41 He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive. 42 This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord. 43 Peter stayed in Joppa for some time with a tanner named Simon.
Message:
Throughout the New Testament we can see Peter’s faith growing. This is the disciple who stepped out on the water with Jesus (Matthew 14:28-33), and began to sink because he was afraid. He is the disciple who denied Jesus 3 times after Jesus had been captured (Matthew 26:69-75). Now here he is. Jesus had been crucified and had risen, and has told them to “go and make disciples” (Matthew 28:19). Peter’s faith has grown and blossomed.
In today’s scripture we see how powerful faith is. Through Peter’s faith in the healing power of Jesus, Tabitha is raised from the dead. Time and time again the scriptures show us that with God all things are possible. If we have discernment that tells us what God is calling us to do, and the faith to answer that call, we too can see miracles happen through Jesus Christ our Savior.
Time of Prayer
Dear Lord, let us have faith in You as Peter did. Strengthen our faith, and help us clearly see that path You are calling us to travel upon. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

May the Lord bless you and keep you: May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace." Amen.
Go in peace, serve the Lord
Thanks be to God
